Instruction in the kisansi, or African thumb piano, is offered once per day. Students learn to play ritual songs, as well as original compositions. Kisansi are available for use in classes and for sale.
Congolese song and traditional call and response is taught in a singing class for an hour each afternoon. Singing classes explore songs that accompany movement and rhythm taught in other Workshop classes, and whose original purpose was to transmit history, traditional values and social mores.
