Pierre Sandor Diabankouezi was choreographer and lead dancer for 10 years with the Congolese National Dance Company. He continues to perform with Fua Dia Congo. Sandor is recognized as a pioneer in using drumming and ethnic dance to bring communities together. His choreography focuses on trance dance as an avenue for individual spiritual deepening, healing and collective community-building.
 
At the Congolese Dance & Drum Workshops, Sandor teaches classes in dance, kisansi and nkunga (song). He also is an accomplished traditional mikwe painter. When he is not at one of our workshops, Uncle Sandor teaches drum, song and dance classes in the San Francisco Bay Area.
